A gardener should have following gardening tools in order to make gardening easier and enjoyable.
Spade: A spade is used for turning soil and incorporating organic matter with the top soil.
Fork: A fork is required for mixing a compost pile during compost preparation.
Shovel: A shovel is needed for mixing the soil-manure mixture, a compost pile etc.
Rakes: A bow rake is used for smoothing out soil, removing stones, and breaking up clods. A straight rake is used to smooth the seedbed and to compact soil over freshly sown seed to improve germination.
Hoe: The hoe is used for preparing the seedbed, and for cultivating the soil to mix in fertilizer and control weeds.
Long-Handled Cultivator: It is used to break up large clods and refines the seedbed.
Trowel: It is used for transplanting seedlings
Hand Cultivator: It is needed for working around plants and breaking up soil clods for light replanting.
Irrigation Equipment: A watering can is required for watering seedlings and nursery beds; garden and soaker hoses and sprinklers may be used for general watering.
Hand Duster: It is used to apply chemicals in powder form.
Compressed-Air Sprayer: It is the most popular equipment for applying chemicals because it gives good coverage.
String and Steaks: These are used for row alignment while preparing the garden site.
Measuring Stick: Measuring stick is used for determining the distance between plants and rows.
Wheelbarrow or Garden Cart: It is used to transport soil and manures, garden tools, and harvested produce.
Wheel Cultivator: It is used for removing weeds and preparing the soil.
Spreaders: It is used for chemical application.
Hand Seeder: It is used for sowing seeds.
Tiller: It is used for tilling soil at the time of soil preparation
